DSC_5286b | Seit dem Ende der diplomatischen Beziehungen 1961 war die Botschaft geschlossen. Am 20. Juli 2015 offiziell wieder diplomatische Beziehungen. Am 14. August wurde die US-Flagge nach 54 Jahren durch Außenminister John Kerry offiziell wieder gehisst.In der Bush-Ära wurde weithin sichtbare Leuchtschrift in den oberen Stockwerken installiert um die kubanische Bevölkerung mit Nachrichten aus amerikanischer Perspektive zu versorgen. Von kubanischer Seite wurde ein Wald von Fahnenmasten mit Schwarzen Flaggen vor dem Gebäude installiert, um die Sicht auf die Schrift zu verdecken. Fotograf: Ralf Gebhardt - Realized with Pictrs.com
